Sailfish School, Report, January 17, 2016
Greetings from Sailfish World:
Today, Wanda Taylor and I fished the second day of her Casa Vieja Lodge weekend getaway aboard the vessel, "Intensity" with Captain Mike Sheeder along with mates Waldo and Minolto. This was Wanda's second day of fly fishing for sailfish, let me tell you she is a very good fly angler, we raised thirty some sailfish, of which 13 teased in and bit the fly, miss Wanda caught and released 8 of these wonderful , big, aggressive, Sailfish on 20 pound class tippet.
After two days of fly fishing, Wanda had a total of 31 sailfish bite her pink and white Cam Sigler fly. Using my TFO Blue Water Heavy Duty fly rod, Mako #9700 fly reel, RIO 550 grain Leviathan fly line with 20 pound breaking strength class tippet, she caught and released 17 Sailfish! Congratulations to TFO's pro, Wanda Hair Taylor. Stay tuned for more reports to follow, I love my job, wish you were here.

Sailfish School Report, January 16, 2016
Greetings from Casa Vieja Lodge, Guatemala:
Today was the first day of a new Sailfish School with my student being TFO's Wanda Taylor, who had never caught a Sailfish on fly. We had a fun day with Wanda catching a 100 pound sailfish, on 20 pound test class tippet, on her third cast.
Captain Mike Sheeder with mates Waldo and Minolto did a great job finding the sailfish, we raised 41, got 18 to bite the fly, while we caught and released 9 Sailfish on fly on Wanda's first day ever. WOW, that girl is good, the fish were finicky, and a few were bad bites, that said they were big fish for the most part.
After an awesome dinner at Casa Vieja Lodge, we are planning strategy for day two, Tomorrow. Life is good in Guatemala, I really love my Job, wish you were. Contact me soon for one of the very few dates still available during the next 5 months. More reports to follow.
Regards
Jake

Sailfish School Report January 15, 2016
Greetings from Sailfish World:
January 15 was the last day of fishing in my Sailfish School, here at Casa Vieja Lodge, for Chris and Diane O'Neill. This couple fly fished with me for four days aboard "Intensity" with Captain Mike Sheeder along with mates Minolto and Waldo. The results were amazing for beginners or even for experts, on January 15 Dianne and Chris caught and released 11 sailfish on fly from 23 bites. The final score for their first four days ever doing this was: they caught and released 41 sailfish and a Blue Marlin on fly., Amazing, Congratulations and a big thanks to Casa Vieja Lodge for hosting my schools.
.
Diane and Chris depart today, and I go back to work aboard Intensity with Captain Mike, Minolto, and Waldo, fine tuning the skills of TFO's pro Wanda Taylor. This bite has been red hot for several months here at Casa Vieja Lodge, cant wait to get back out there. More reports to follow, I love my job, wish you were here.
Sailfish School Report January 13, 2016
Greetings from Casa Vieja Lodge:
Just got back to the dock after Diane and Chris O'Neill fished their second day of my Sailfish School aboard Intensity with Captain Mike Sheeder, along with mates Minolto and Waldo. We fished 45 minutes from the marina, fishing was good Diane and Chris got 23 sailfish to bite the fly while they caught and released 13 sailfish on fly.
My friend Bob Jones from Islamorada stayed an extra day at Casa Vieja Lodge and fished today aboard Makaira with Captain Jason Brice and mates Jeffrey and Wilson. Bob caught and released 13 sailfish on fly also, on January 13 2016.
In my opinion the fly fishing for sailfish here at Casa Vieja Lodge is the hottest in the world. We still have a few prime dates open aboard this awesome fleet. Sailfish School Report, Jan 11 2012
Greetings from the world class Casa Vieja Lodge:
Yesterday I got to fish aboard the vessel "Makaira" with Captain Jason Brice along with his mates Jeffrey and Wilson. My long time friend Bob Jones from Islamorada brought three friends to catch some sailfish on fly, mind you that Jeremy, Patty and Don, had not caught any sailfish on fly before. Bob caught the first of the day on what turned out to be a slow morning with two bites and one caught.
After noon it picked up and at 4:00 PM when we headed back to the marina, the score was 31 Sailfish raised, with 21 biting the fly, and a total of 12 sailfish caught and released on fly. Patty, Jeremy, and Don all caught several of the 11 fish caught during the afternoon. Great day at the office, I love my job, it keeps getting better!!!
